Stainless steel 316L is a premium-grade stainless steel known for its superior corrosion resistance, surpassing even stainless steel 304—especially in chloride-rich environments (such as seawater) and harsh acidic conditions.

316L contains added Molybdenum (Mo), which significantly enhances chemical corrosion resistance and durability. The “L” designation (Low Carbon) indicates a reduced carbon content that minimizes carbide precipitation during welding, helping maintain optimal corrosion resistance at welded joints.
