Thailand’s investigation authority has recently announced that it has accepted a petition requesting an anti-dumping investigation into cold-rolled stainless steel originating from or imported from Vietnam.
According to information released by the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam (Ministry of Industry and Trade) on September 18, 2024, the Thai Department of Foreign Trade (the investigating authority) has received a petition requesting an investigation into cold-rolled stainless steel products originating from or imported from Vietnam.
The petitioner in this case is POSCO-Thainox Public Company Limited. The products under investigation are cold-rolled stainless steel, classified under HS codes 7219 and 7220.
The Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam recommends that the Vietnam Steel Association (VSA) and relevant manufacturing and exporting enterprises review their export activities to Thailand from 2020 to the present. At the same time, stakeholders should closely monitor developments in the case and prepare appropriate response strategies should Thailand officially initiate an investigation. Enterprises are also advised to contact and cooperate with the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam to receive timely guidance and support.
